Steven Jay Williams (born July 24, 1974, age 43) more commonly known by his username Boogie2988, or his character Francis, is a popular YouTuber. He makes multiple types of videos, like gaming news, sketches, and Francis. his most popular character with a short temper and a wierd lisp.

Steve was born on July 24, 1974, in "St. Paul" in Virgina.
His parents both worked alot, His father was a coal miner and his mother a teacher. He also had two siblings, Bryan and Karla. she had eventually ran away he was always home with his mom. According to his Draw My Life video, she was verbally and physically abusive to boogie. which he says "Has left me fucked up for life."
When he was older, he went to "Upward Bound" where he made friends and his first relationship. He had also gone to the University Of Virgina but had flunked after the breakup he and his girlfriend had. His brother let him move to Fayetteville, Arkansas to apparently re-invent himself. he started coding and became a web designer. he had made lots of friends. but shortly after he was diagnosed with Lymphedema.it is swelling in an arm or leg caused by a lymphatic system blockage. a doctor tried to amputate his leg, but Steven had refused to let him do it. overtime he had gained even more weight, causing him to be depressed. afterwards, his father had died of cancer. his mother fell and broke her leg. and couldn't work. Boogie claims this "pushed her over the edge."
Eventually, Boogie had no money left. he was living off his roomate until 2006. he had discovered youtube. he loved that not all people were being mean cause of his obesity. some people thought it was entertaining. when he had made first Francis video, it was featured on =3 made by Ray William Johnson. he then had a boom in popularity and could make money from it.
But, in 2009 he recieved a phone call that his mother was in the hospital. sadly she had had passed away in the hospital. he planned to kill himself on Christmas that same year. but before that could happen, he meant Dez. she was a fan of him. she had moved down to live with him, and married in 2013, but split in 2017.
He usally talks about his weight problems and these videos are in the "Rambling" Topic.
On June 25, 2016, Boogie was hacked and the hackers closed his channel. he says when it happened he "knew exactly what was going on." Thanks to being at VidCon at the time of the hack he was able to save his channel and videos with assistance from staff at Google and YouTube who were in attendance.
